I experienced one of those rare and lovely 'clouds parting' moments in 2022. Having enjoyed a career in Graphic Design for 25 years, I undertook a 2-day workshop with the amazing talent that is Annie Atkins.

 

This glimpse into the world of Graphic Design for Film had echoes of a childhood spent collaging, sketching, trying my hand at calligraphy and nicking my mum's typewriter to create letters, (not to mention hours lost in the world of film).

My design career began at an agency specialising in events and set design. After a decade, I took a leap and set-up my own studio called Spiky Design which is still going strong (www.spikydesign.co.uk). Experiential design has become my main specialism, and it's this love of creating immersive spaces that captivates me most about my commercial practice.

​

Cue the lightbulb moment... discovering that a job exists where my design experience, childhood hobbies and love-of-film can meet.​ So here I am, looking to gain experience and transfer my skills to the Art Department.
